Mike and I flew down to San Diego as planned, and just as planned met Seth, who had driven down from Los Angeles to spend New Year's Day with us. We arrived at noon, and went directly to our motel, so I could lie down for awhile. Then we went for a lunch foray to a good Thai restaurant, came back for more Carol's rest time, then went to dinner at Souplantation and had great make-your-own salads. Then back to the motel for more Carol's rest and to be lasered. Watched a movie. I had no energy.
Saturday morning we repacked our things and took the motel shuttle across the border to the William Hitt Center. They gave me an Ozone treatment (take 1/2 cup of my blood, add Ozone, then give it back to me), then 1/2 hour of waiting for the ozone to circulate, then an IV drip of vitamin C. We waited around to talk with Dr. Humiston, talked about their treatments, did a bit of muscle testing on supplements (I only need one of the many supplements that I brought with me), and left with 3 new supplements and a candida diet. Well, a modified candida diet that seems to allow pasta and flour tortillas. hmmmmm.
We had called for a shuttle, and Hector appeared with his taxi to ferry us around. First we stopped at the bank for some pesos, then to a taco stand for lunch (2:30 pm), then to Sadie's Bed and Breakfast.
Sadie's is beautiful. There is a fountain area outside behind the dining room. Our room has a jacuzzi bath tup and a nice shower head. We have wireless internet service.
For $15 more per night per person, they will serve dinner. We had an exquisite cream of vegetable soup, followed by a salad, and then a steak, brown rice, and asparagus with slivered almonds. Delicious!
Dear ones, I'll keep you informed. I don't know whether I am crashing out of energy or having a nice energy period. We'll see as it unfolds.
Mike leaves very early Monday morning, to go back to work. We have a free day tomorrow. Sadie's doesn't serve dinner on Sunday, but they said that there is a really good Japanese restaurant nearby. So we will plan to go there.
Happy New Year to you, and our wishes for a very healthy one as well!
Love,
Carol
Hey Carol!
ReplyDeleteThis is Steven Simmons, Seth's friend from San Diego. Isn't San Diego beautiful? I love that city beyond words, especially Souplantation! Nothing like unlimited salad and soup. One thing I found about Souplantation to be simply brilliant was the how they set up the line for salad. When you walk into the restaurant, as you know, the long salad bar is directly in front of you. On busy nights you must remain patient. Like good cattle led by and expert sheperd, we must wait our turn for the perfectly cut veggies and legumes. After paying you sit down and proceed to eat, then get soup and bread. This is where the brilliance of the creators of Souplantation comes into play. "WHAT IF I WANT MORE SALAD!?!?" This is what I go through every time I eat at this restaurant. Well then, I have no choice to again behave like a good little cow and wait in line....again. "BUT I JUST PAID! I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WAIT!" Then I would try to manipulate the system buy saying, "fine I will eat all of their soup!" I would then meditate fully on devouring every last ounce of their Broccoli and Cheddar soup! My stomach begins to roar like a lion. ROAAAR! At this point I found myself running on all fours toward the soup section of souplantation. Pushing kids and parents aside, I get four bowls of soup. I eat one and throw it at the bus boy. Then two.....then...three. I cant continue, so much broccoli so little time. Souplantation won.
I hope you enjoyed my story. I will write you again soon.
With Love,
Steven
