Dear Family and Friends,
The XRay comparison shows no significant change in the lung tumors since February. This is good news!
Seth is here now, and he and I met with Dr. Munros to consult on the cancer. Dr. Munros wants me to take a blood test and send it to Greece for analysis. Altho expensive, what comes back is a complete analysis of which chemo will work, and which alternative therapies will be effective. So Monday I am taking the blood test and the results will come back in about 10 days. We discussed this with my doctor, Dr. Humiston, and we agreed that I will skip the chemo (chemo kills the cells, but we need to be sure the body is healthy, and chemo doesn't do that). Dr. Humiston says that if I had had chemo, I wouldn't be alive now.
Also on Monday I will get a baseline Sonagram (ultra sound), to make it easier to track changes with the cancer.
So Seth will leave Wednesday, and then Bernie will come and then Patty. Lot's of company!
Thanks for checking my blog. My energy level is still low (I am still anemic) and the only pain I have is when the floating tube from the Denver Shunt has gotten out of place.
Love, Carol
Hi Carol,
ReplyDeleteThat is good news that the cancer is not progressing. As always, I hope and pray that your treatment will make you well. I miss you and look forward to the day when you will return home but I know that you have wonderful care between your doctors and Sonia and Caroline. I will be going to Pennsylvania next week to see Randy but I will pick some lemons and bring them to George and hopefully he can get them to Bernie to bring to you.
Love, Kathy
Let's all cheer for Good News! I'm so glad you're not in pain, that you can sleep in relative comfort and you're enjoying your food.
ReplyDeleteI'm also grateful that you have so many people in your life who love you as much (maybe not as long) as I have for over 50 years. I'm praying for all the possible positives you can chalk up.
Love always, Adrienne
Carol this is wonderful news! This is definetly my "rose" for the day. I just emailed Seth, you guys have been on my mind a lot today. I may be doing another cycling trip next summer. We will see how that goes though.
ReplyDeleteJust something to think about Carol. The mind has huge impacts on the body. Develop deep focus on health. Do not let anything else to penetrate your deep concentration. Also, do you have a favorite comedy? Or something that will give you a good belly laugh? I say this because today I watched one of my favorite movies, Dumb and Dumber. I watched it this morning and laughed so hard I cried. This made a huge impact on my day. There are huge benifits to laughter.
More importantly, again, try to develop deep focus and concentration on your desires. This is a skill that once mastered, will change your life for the many years to come.
Love,
Steven T. Simmons
Hi Carol,
ReplyDeleteWhat great news! Thinking of you.
Love,
Barbara Giles
It's always wonderful to hear good news! Are you coughing less now? Keep up the good healing :).
ReplyDeleteVlad and I are adjusting to desert living here in Las Vegas. Vlad's performing in the Jubilee show now and enjoying it. I'm job hunting (heading for the 3rd of a 4 step interview process for a Pilates teaching job) and auditioning whenever possible. All in all life is good.
We all think of you often and send healing prayers your way!
OXOXOX
Melissa
